Client: Up North Renovations
Project Location: Retford
This architectural interior photography project documents a contemporary kitchen renovation in Retford for Up North Renovations, a company specialising in bespoke joinery and residential refurbishment. The project involved transforming a traditional home with a modern kitchen layout that balances clean lines, high-quality materials and strong visual contrast.
The design uses a bold palette of dark green cabinetry set against light walls and work surfaces, creating a clear visual contrast that defines the space while maintaining a bright and airy atmosphere. The layout is intentionally minimal, with carefully considered storage, integrated appliances and uncluttered work surfaces that emphasise both functionality and design clarity.

Despite overcast weather conditions on the day of the shoot, the kitchen’s large windows and light interior finishes allowed the space to be photographed with a natural, soft light that highlights material textures and colour tones. The photography focused on capturing both wide views of the overall layout and closer details of the joinery, fixtures and finishes that define the project.

These photographs were produced for Up North Renovations’ portfolio and marketing use, forming part of my wider architectural and interior photography work across Nottinghamshire, the East Midlands and the UK, documenting bespoke kitchens, residential renovations and high-quality domestic interiors.
