Client: Thread Architects
Project Location: Sheffield
This architectural photography project documents a period property reconfiguration in Sheffield for Thread Architects, capturing the transformation of a traditional stone-built home through the addition of a contemporary extension and reworked internal spaces. The brief required both still photography and drone footage, all completed within a short shooting window before sunset.

With the available natural light dropping quickly, careful planning and an efficient shooting approach were essential to cover exterior elevations, interior architectural spaces and aerial perspectives before losing usable daylight. Clear weather and a warm evening glow over the Derbyshire skyline provided ideal conditions to highlight the contrast between the original historic fabric and the modern architectural interventions.

The final image set focuses on the relationship between the retained period structure and the new extension, alongside interior spaces designed to maximise natural light and strengthen the connection to the surrounding landscape. These architectural photographs were created for use across the architects’ portfolio, marketing material and wider project promotion.

This residential project forms part of my broader architectural photography work across Sheffield, Yorkshire and the UK, documenting contemporary extensions, reconfigurations and thoughtfully designed homes within sensitive historic contexts.
