Architectural Photography

Hi, I’m Dug Wilders, a professional photographer based in Sheffield and York. I work across the UK, specialising in capturing the built and natural environment. My approach is defined by technical precision and a commitment to “honest” composition—prioritising natural light and perspective over heavy digital processing.

Architecture is where my technical background and creative interests meet. It requires a discipline that goes beyond simply taking a picture; it is about understanding the architect’s intent, the structural engineering, and how the building interacts with its environment.

My approach to architectural photography is grounded in precision. I utilise specialist tilt-shift lenses and technical camera movements to ensure that vertical lines remain parallel and perspectives are true to life. I avoid the distorted, over-processed look often found in real estate marketing. Instead, I strive for a natural, “honest” representation that respects the materials and the geometry of the design.

I work with architects, developers, construction firms, and heritage trusts to document projects at every stage of their lifecycle. From the raw scale of a construction site to the refined finish of a completed development, I provide high-resolution imagery that helps my clients win awards, secure tenders, and showcase their portfolio with confidence.
