Drone Photography

Hi, I’m Dug Wilders, a professional photographer based in Sheffield and York. I work across the UK, specialising in capturing the built and natural environment. My approach is defined by technical precision and a commitment to “honest” composition—prioritising natural light and perspective over heavy digital processing.
Aerial photography offers a perspective that ground-level work simply cannot provide. It allows us to understand the scale of a site, the flow of a landscape, and how a structure sits within its wider context.
For me, drone photography is not about using a gimmick; it is about extending the camera’s reach. I apply the same compositional rules in the air as I do on the ground. I look for clean lines, leading geometry, and the interplay of light and shadow. Whether I am capturing a completed architectural project, documenting the progress of a construction site, or showcasing a large estate, the goal is always to create imagery that is informative, sharp, and visually striking.
Safety and professionalism are paramount in this field. I hold a CAA Operational Authorisation, ensuring that all flights are conducted legally, safely, and with the necessary insurance in place. This allows me to operate in complex environments where hobbyist pilots cannot, delivering high-resolution stills and video for developers, architects, and marketing agencies.
