Landscape Photography

Hi, I’m Dug Wilders, a professional photographer based in Sheffield and York. I work across the UK, specialising in capturing the built and natural environment. My approach is defined by technical precision and a commitment to “honest” composition—prioritising natural light and perspective over heavy digital processing.
Living in Yorkshire, with the Peak District and the Dales on my doorstep, I learned early on that the landscape is never static. It is constantly being reshaped by the elements, the seasons, and the shifting light.
For me, landscape photography is an exercise in patience. I don’t believe in over-processing images to create drama that wasn’t there. Instead, I favour the technical discipline of waiting for the right moment—when the weather breaks or the sun hits the topography just right. Whether capturing the rugged grit of a moorland or the quiet stillness of a woodland, my aim is to produce work that feels authentic to the location.
While this work stems from a personal passion for the outdoors, it serves a distinct commercial purpose. I work with tourism boards, conservation trusts, and editorial publications to document environments in a way that inspires. I also frequently work with interior designers and corporate clients to provide high-resolution fine art prints that bring the character of the outdoors into internal spaces.
